Max Verstappen reed de eerste meters met de nieuwe bolide. Na een shakedown in Silverstone, werd in Bahrein met het juiste Pirelli rubber gereden en was ook de concurrentie aanwezig. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen reed strak zijn ronden.
